BStrong Together Conversation Circles

Three daytime + two NEW evening Conversation Circles in 2019-2020!

Through a generous grant from the Barrington Area Community Foundation, BStrong Together is pleased to announce the BStrong Together Conversation Circles will continue during the 2019-2020 school year with the additon of two NEW evening Circles.

The BStrong Together ongoing, facilitated Conversation Circles aim to build a community of support focused on the issues, concerns, joys and challenges of raising children in today’s complex world. The Circles are FREE and open to all parents, caregivers, educators, and community members inside the geographic boundaries of Barrington 220 School District (affiliation with the District is not required),

Meeting at the Barrington Area Library seven times throughout the 2019-20 school year, each Conversation Circle will consist of a maximum of 30 parents, caregivers, educators, and community members from the Barrington area and two mental health professionals who will provide support, guidance, and expertise to group members.  In order to meet the unique needs of children and youth at different developmental stages, BStrong Together has created three daytime Conversation Circles, each to focus on a specific age group - elementary school, middle school, and high school.  Two evening Conversation Circles will be added in 2019-2020 - one  focused on the needs of elementary school students and the other on middle and high school students.

The supportive learning environment of the Conversation Circles provide information, tools, resources, and strategies from the knowledge and experience of the facilitators combined with the perspective and support that comes from the connection to other members.  Together, the group will discuss ways to prepare children and youth to successfully navigate the complex world of today and the future.

In order to strengthen the connections between members of the Conversation Circle as well as maximize the learning experience, member attendance at each monthly meeting is encouraged, but is not required.

* Space is limited.  Registration is required to join a Conversation Circle.

** Participants in the BStrong Together Conversation Circles must reside or work within the geographic boundaries of Barrington 220 School District, but a connection to the District is not required.
